Who We Are

We are a congregation of Christain believers affialiated with the federation of churches known as the United Reformed Churches in North America.  We affirm the Five Solas of the Protestant Reformation.  As a confessionally Reformed church, we affirm the Doctrines of Grace, otherwise know as the Five Points of Calvinism and detailed in the Canons of Dort (see below).

Covenant United Reformed Church holds to the following Creeds and Confessions as faithful representations and summaries of the truths contained in the Bible.

Our Leadership

Covenant United Reformed Church is a church plant of Cornerstone United Reformed Church of Sanborn, Iowa.  As such, we are under the authority of the elders of Cornerstone URC.  There are two elders at Covenant URC that are members of the Consistory (elders) of Cornerstone URC: Roger Hibma and Eric Van Dyken.

To organize and govern the local affairs of the church under supervision and authority of the Cornerstone Consistory, a local Steering Committee was formed, consisting of members Ivan Brouwer (Chair), Brent Brouwer (Treasurer), Roger Hibma (Vice-clerk), and Eric Van Dyken (Clerk) as well as advisor Rev. Larry Johnson.
